Woosh! I made in 30 minutes of water areobics today making my 5 days for the first week. I’m also happy because this weekend was the first time in awhile i stuck to my food plan, Been doing well Monday through Friday but this was the first weekend in awhile. Yippie!
Today I did another 30 minutes of Yobics, which a combinatioin of Yoga and Areobics.
If anyone got Sunday comics in the washington post 2 of comic strips were about exercise and the whole mini page for children was about yoga.
Today I really felt not like exercises, but I know that reward is gonna be good even if i don”t win the prize. I have to stay focused no matter what . ITs only 20 out of 30 days so thats got make seem a little eaiser than all 30 days of March.
3/1- 45 minute swim
3/2- 45 minute yoga class, 30 minute step mill, pull-ups and abs
3/3- 2 hr trapeze class
3/4-45 min flex and pump class
3/6-40 min walk
week 2
3/7-30 min walk
3/8- 1hr spin class/ abs & pushups
First I have to say, I have enjoyed all the comments so much. I wish I had seen those comics Paul, but I must say, your exercise posts really lighten things up!
Now for the first day of week 2: I drove my husband to the airport EARLY this morning, it was just too beautiful to go inside when I got home, geese were flying overhead. I grabbed the rake and the broom and stayed out a half an hour raking and then sweeping the walks. Early afternoon I had a fitness class at the gym. We do not work up a sweat in the class but we do move for 60 minutes. Late this afternoon I hopped on my bike and rode around my neighborhood for 30 minutes. I feel a good night’s sleep coming on!
Started the week off with a bang…one word…ZUMBA! If you have never tried it (I’m talking to you, mom), you must! It is SO FUN. 60 minutes of awesome latin-inspired dancing to super fun music. It was a good workout even without getting all the choreography, but I see myself becoming a dancing machine if I keep it up. I looked absolutely ridiculous but it was so much fun I didn’t care.
March 9. I did not want to exercise today at ALL. I wanted to shop. So, I bargained with myself. I would take a great bike ride and then I would shop. I really can not face the gym on a day as pretty as this, so I rode my bike for 35 minutes. But then, I do not get my strength training in. None the less, fresh air, sunshine and exercise was a 3 for 1 today. Then I shopped. Just a little.
I am a tentative shopper. I know this is about exercise, but I think it is a good place to say I am now shopping for 6-8 sizes smaller than when I met Rebecca. Tricky business. I know this is a good place to say, thank you, Rebecca.
You are most welcome Kathe. You are a joy to work with. I am enjoying your posts and I appreciate your kind words.
I encourage all of you to blog about whatever you like, as you all know, food/feelings are often times all tangled up and I think this is a great place to inspire each other and also to discuss that sometimes we have to push ourselves to make better choices and that we can all learn from each other.
For instance, this morning, I chose watching 24 instead of going to the gym, I was exhausted from a Binge Eating Disorder conference that I attended over the weekend and just needed to rest before heading off to a long day at the office. Since I rested today, I am sure that I will be able to work out longer or harder tomorrow. It is all about balance and learning which are the best choices for us both in the short-term and the long term.
Great job to everyone who has been making time to exercise and making good self-care a priority. I am so happy for each of you.
Rebecca
I was glad I had more desire to exercise today than yesterday. I went to the gym and rode the bike for 35 minutes. I have given up my personal challenge of adding a minute every day. I felt I should have done 40 minutes today, but I get so bored! While at the gym I lifted weights and did some work with the ball. I fully intended to walk or ride my bike this afternoon. I zipped in and out of several grocery stores collecting boxes and when I got home declared enough is enough! It is only 5:45, but I am happily and cozily in for the night, ready to read for a while.
I am beat today… didn’t get enough sleep last night, had a very disjointed day at work, and have been running around like a madwoman preparing to put our house on the market on Monday (!!!) Does packing boxes count as exercise?? Last night I ran *outside* for 30 minutes after work. The fresh air felt great! I plan to do it again early tomorrow morning. I had a nice walk today with some colleagues to and from lunch off-campus, probably about 10 minutes briskly each way, but this kind of walking is very normal for me (a train commuter) so I don’t count it. Today will be a day off for me, and to make my 5 x 30 minutes I will run tomorrow, ride Friday, and hit the gym on Saturday!
I hope packing boxes does count since we will be doing that most of tomorrow! I think you are nuts not to count all your walking. This girl walks far and fast all the time. When I was little I could not keep up with my mother, and now I can’t keep up with my daughter. Hold up! Wait for me! The story of my life.
Monday and wednesday yobics 30 minutes
Went outside and played with the dogs today. Great day to go outside and play!
OMG! Today I did domething I have not been able to do in several years. At work we have one of those old fashion Dr. scales that you slide the numbers back and forth on and well today it actaully registed me. Wow! a normal scale. My heaviest weight recoded offically was 392 and today I weighed in at 348. The scale only goes up to 350. Yippie! Now its time to get my next work out in this is gonna make the work out kind of fun today. gonna do a 30 minute workout video.
Congratulations Paul. Sounds like you are really taking good care of yourself.
Rebecca
For March 11 & 12. Yesterday I did not do anything like official exercise. But I did get so much unofficial exercise helping my daughter get ready to put her house on the market by the time dinner time rolled around (we had planned to walk to a restaurant) I said, Honey, I’m not walking anywhere! So we got in the car a went to dinner and then got a couple more hours of “movement” in when we got home. Today I walked around the Italian market area in Philadelphia. Nearly all the shops are connected by awnings, so the rain was no problem. A couple of hours in the car made me realize I needed to get to the gym. I rode the bike for 35 minutes.
OK everyone, I know it is tough to workout and exercise with all this rain, but let’s see what you can do to rise to the challenge and figure out how to meet your exercise goals over the weekend!
Rebecca
Today I walked the dog. Thursday night I did the treadmill and elyptical and a few of the machines and walked the dog. I also walked around part of the lake in Columbia while waiting for the blood drive to begin. Wednesday I walked the dog in a different neighborhood. Tuesday I went to boot camp! I also walked the dog several times throughout the day. Monday I walked the dog. I also walked the parking lot.
Thursday morning I went for a nice run outside, 30 minutes. It was nice to see the sun begin to shine through the clouds and to start the day moving! I spent all day Thursday moving, in fact…packing and cleaning my house! On Friday the rain began…so my riding lesson was canceled. BUT, I had a feeling it might be, so I made sure to put not only my horsey bag in the car, but my gym bag, too. I went to the gym after work and spent 20 minutes on the eliptical machine and another 20 on the climber. It’s still pouring, so I’ll be going to the gym again today…more on that later!
THrusday video areobics and Saturday water areobics which brings up to day 4 this week which means I have to work tomorrow to get back on track,
oopppss! I forgot to share the amunt of time
Monday Wednesday 30 minutes yobics
Thursday 35 minutes vidoe areobics
Saturday 40 minute water areobics
Now I have to workout Sunday and be back on track
need spell check when bloging
I got really bummed out with this rain today. I am tired of being wet! My husband just returned from a trip and we had a nice day planned to stick together like glue. Well, I became UNglued because water started to fill the sump and it can overflow so hubby had to man the pump. I did a million errands (wet) and then went to the gym. I was not sure I was going to go today at all, but I felt I had no alternative. I rode the bike for 45 minutes, beating my own record. I became engrossed in “Celebrity Weight Loss Boot Camp” it was like watching a train wreck, and should be renamed “Weight Loss by Humiliation”. Oh well, it got me through my 45 minutes!
OK, so I had to get *really* creative (creative = silly) today… I am literally flooded in! I think there’s about 6 inches of water surrounding my house like a moat (but my basement is bone dry…anyone wanna buy a house??) and I couldn’t bear to walk to the train, then to the gym, then back again. Nor could I drive, as my windshield wipers are broken. SO I set the timer on my phone and worked out a little routine for myself: run up 2 flight spiral staircase, lift weights/do some pilates moves for a minute, run down 2 flight spiral staircase, 20 jumping jacks, REPEAT! I lost count of how many cycles I did…it was fun, and HARD. I think my cat thought I was crazy.
Heads up Admin. I think we exercise challengers are going to need a party when March is over…I want to meet my comrades!
To Melissa Kramer, cute, really cute. I would have tried my best to keep up with you, but man those spiral staircases!!! Note: three floors, stairs are like slices of pie, BUT some are deeper than others, and some are higher than others, one must be on guard at all times while doing the stairs here!
3/7- 30 min walk
3/8- 1 hr spin class, abs & pushups
3/9- am flex and pump class,30 min walk /jog, pm yoga
3/10- 2 hr trapeze class
3/13-in home 15 min walking stairs/ 15 min jump rope
Great Job Sarah!!! You are doing awesome! I was not as active as I had hoped with a cold and stomach bug earlier in the week, but here is my week’s total: Tuesday/Friday/Sunday (today) 75 min strength training and core exercises. My goal for this coming week is to put some stationary bike and pilates from On Demand in between my lifting days. Everyone keep up the posting. It really is encouraging to see us all motivating each other. I love it!!! Yay RBA!!
It was so great the sun peeked out here and there this afternoon. My day has been busy, and my husband and I have just gotten in from a nice half an hour walk. Crocus’, snowdrops and may apples are all blooming. The same walk used to take me 45 minutes, getting further faster these days!
So I suppose in this world, the “week” is Monday to Sunday, yes? I will have to get used to that
. Sunday I went to the gym and did 20 minutes on the eliptical and another 20 on the climber.
