Meet Our Dietitians

All of our Nutritionists are Registered Dietitians (RD) and licensed nutrition experts in Maryland, and all participate in rigorous continuing education. You will be matched with a nutritionist who meets your individual needs and will provide you with the most current nutrition information and interventions.

Shelley Alspaugh
RD, LD, CDE

Shelley earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech and completed a Dietetic Internship at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. Shelley’s work experience includes providing nutrition services as a Clinical Dietitian at a local hospital, and providing nutrition services at local health departments in the Maternity Clinics. Shelley has been at RBA since 2001 working as a Nutrition Therapist and Chief Dietitian. She has also served as a volunteer nutritionist on a medical team to Honduras and enjoys working with a culturally diverse clientele. Shelley’s interests include weight management, diabetes, cardiovascular nutrition, eating disorders, holistic nutrition, bariatric surgery, and vegetarian nutrition. Shelley is knowledgeable in Spanish and has earned her Ceritfied Diabetes Educator and Certified Insulin Pump Trainer credentials. Shelley also specializes in Corporate Wellness and is available for on-site nutrition counseling presentations and programs.

Bobbi Boteler
RD, LD

Bobbi earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from the University of Maryland and completed her Dietetic Internship through Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She has a certificate of training in adult weight management through the American Dietetic Association. Bobbi strives to make a personal connection with all of her clients so that she can better help them achieve their personal goals. She believes in increasing a clients' awareness to their thoughts and actions around food hoping to help them make more food encounters mindful rather than mindless. Bobbi’s interests include diabetes, weight management, anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, compulsive overeating and bariatric surgery.

Cameron Currie
RD, LD

Cameron earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from the University of North Carolina and completed her Dietetic Internship through University of Maryland. Prior to working at Rebecca Bitzer, MS, RD & Associates, Cameron worked as a Wellness assistant at Anne Arundel Medical Center, as a Clinical Dietitian at Harbor Hospital of Baltimore and two Rehabilitation and Long Term Care communities in Maryland. She also has experience as a caterer and as a food safety inspector. She has served as a representative at numerous health and wellness fairs throughout Maryland. Cameron’s interests include adult and pediatric weight management, Geriatrics, Diabetes, Cancer, Renal and Cardiac diseases. She believes in achieving self improvement and success through positive thinking, which includes self-talk, stress management, and building a support environment.

Kathy Kendall
MS, RD, LD

Kathy earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Dietetics and Nutrition from the University of Maryland. She also completed a prestigious Dietetic Internship at the Medical College of Virginia. She has served as Assistant Food Service Director for Marriott Corporation, Nutritionist on staff at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and provided clinical dietetic services at several major hospitals in Richmond Virginia. She is a published author of many articles that have appeared in recognized nutrition science journals. Kathy is also a certified provider of LEAP (Lifestyle, Eating and Performance) disease management for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), migraines, and other food sensitivities.

Annie Thorp
MS, RD, LD

Annie earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Management from the University of Central Oklahoma, where she also completed her Dietetic Internship. Prior to working at Rebecca Bitzer, MS, RD & Associates, she was the dietitian for a Community Health Center near Oklahoma City, supervising a Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Clinic and providing individual and group nutrition counseling for a wide range of health concerns. In that position, one of her roles was coordinating and teaching diabetes education classes. She also has a Certificate of Training in adult weight management through the American Dietetic Association. Annie's counseling interests include diabetes, weight management, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), cardiovascular nutrition, gastrointestinal disorders (Celiac, Irritable Bowel, reflux, etc.), and prenatal health, and her goal in counseling is finding practical ways to integrate nutrition as part of a healthy lifestyle.
