I wrote this autobiography when I was 11 years old for a school assignment.
At 11 years old, my plans to be a dietitian were in place. Many years later, I have decided that a dietitian is too limiting for me, but the concept of a nutritionist is a good fit. I like to think about nutrition in the broadest sense of NUTRITIOUS, basically nourishing the mind, body and soul. This fits for me, both personally and professionally.
I believe my life struggle has been to quit “doing too much” in terms of my drive to be productive and to push myself out of my comfort zone.

1995: 230 pounds and I’m ready for a big change; overweight forever; been through Weight Watchers and Overeaters Anonymous; tried “giving up” but was too unhappy; heard about someone who did well with a nutritionist; asked the doctor for a referral and was led to Rebecca.
Over the next year I ate better, exercised more, and learned to hear and listen to my feelings. The latter was by far the hardest but the rewards were great.
Winter 1996: I can wear a size 16! Meaning, I can shop at regular stores, buy regular pantyhose and buy on impulse, just like regular people.
August 1996: Celebrate my 45th birthday looking sleek, weighing about 165 pounds, and feeling good. I can hike with my friends in Colorado and keep up. I can bike with my husband around Sugarloaf Mountain and think it’s fun.
Has it been smooth sailing since then? I wish!
